Stratton in the Spring

What an incredible winter we have had!   With 4" of snow overnight Stratton has had 200 inches of SNOW!   Some roads looked like luge runs as they narrowed with high banks as plowers had a hard time removing and pushing back the snow.    With some warm, sunny days we have strated the begining of the dreaded "Mud Season" .  If you thought black ice was tricky watch out for the mud which can be greasy and slippery and ruts that will suck you in to your door jams.    The trick is to go slow and aim for the high spots.   The warm weather brings the ski season to an end  but also brings great skiing in sweaters and light jackets, picnics on the mountain and suntans like  have you looking like Rocky the Raccoon.

We are presently contacting all of our tenants and having them rebook for next year.  We  are sending out renewals so people can make plans early.   Many do like to renew their leases for another year.   Another option, of course, is looking to buy.    Prices are still very reasonable with some great buys in all price ranges. Condos  under $400,000 are still mostly listed at less than what they were 4 years ago. There is still a good selection under $400,000. of homes in the Stratton area, Tow recently listed homes are of particularly great value. 35 Todd Hill Road is a really cute post and beam barn located just off the SAtratton Access Road for $519,000.  It is beautifully furnished and very well maintained.

Another listing, is located in Wheeler's Woods which is just 4 miles to Strattons Base lodge or SunBowl Base Lodge.   It is bright and looks brand new.   A 4 bedroom contemporary just reduced to $499,000.    Both these properties and others are well worth a trip to see.
